Sensei is the nickname of Jennifer Conboy, an assistant director of electronic communications at Boston College. Sensei received her nickname from Anthony Vigs Vigliotta when he received tutelage from her during a difficult MBA-level economics course taught by David Murphy. Vigs likened Sensei's gentle and meditative teaching style to Mr. Miyagi, a karate professional in the movie Karate Kid. In Karate Kid, however, Sensei was the aggressive and brutal intructor who taught his teachers to show no mercy.
Sensei is known to use chopsticks when she teaches. "The Chopsticks methods" are textbook, time-tested methods to lead one to the light. They contrast in style, but not in ultimate purpose, with an alternate ideology, Leon's Methods.
